JOHN Watkins of Poole has two generations of his family who were Bournemouth Transport Inspectors. His grandfather Leonard Watkins worked on the trams and then the trolleybuses and would have worked with Gwen’s father Bill Stride. He was an Inspector when his picture was taken at Christchurch Road, Pokesdown, circa 1920s or 30s. He died in 1954.
