Give back our charter

Councillors at Bridport, Dorset are demanding the return of the town’s Royal Charter. The original, granted by King Henry III in 1253, is held in the public records office at Kew in London – part of the huge borough roll document which can’t be moved. But a copy and a translation from the original Latin is held at the Dorset Records office in Dorchester.
