During the night of 24 March 1944, 76 airmen escaped from the Prisoner of War camp Stalag Luft III. Only three made it home and, of the remainder, 50 were murdered on Hitler’s orders. This talk from the National Archives will explain what actually happened in the so-called Great Escape, one of the Second World War’s most infamous incidents.

I think the movie is simply a movie and the facts of real life can not be accurately shown by any movie. History has a lot in store, the secrets of which can not be known truly. During this war period the tragedies are heart aching and I think none of us living in the present world have to listen or view what our ancestors have been through.
