On Thursday, June 23, 1932 the Rockaway Record reported that a new bakery was to be oppened on the following Saturday at Rockaway, New Jersey. One of the bakery operators was Leslie Carlyon.

A new and modern bakery for Rockaway will officially open its doors to the general public Saturday, June 25. Located in the block adjoining the Post Office the establishment will feature a complete line of baked goods fresh from the ovens daily and also carry the noted brand of Loft’s pure candies.
