The Dorset Ancestors web site has temporarily closed it’s doors. Let’s hope this interesting and useful website will soon be back on line. The following is from the sites temporary home page.
“Throughout 2007 we have been plagued by people joining the forum with the sole intention of posting misleading messages intended to promote the sale of all manner of pills, tablets and worse.
We have stopped all of these bogus messages reaching the forum but recently we have been dealing with over fifty such attempts every day and it takes time to delete their details from our system and they are a constant distraction.
The forum is at the heart of our service so it is with much regret that we have to announce the suspension of the web-site and our free to use service until further notice.”

Hi
I was gutted to hear about the site, there’s always some idiots spoiling it for others. This has happened to a website here in Wirral, fortunately the data stored is safe as it contains thousands of email addresses, this was targetted by spammers.
I was regularly using this site and was in contact with Bob Cheesman who was researching my family history. Has Bob given up or is he able to be contacted.
Regards
