As part of a community project the BBC have been recording the stories of people in West and North Dorset. Stories range from a rugby player with a penchant for ballroom dancing, a soldier who moonlights as a drag queen to an office clerk who unwinds at night by fronting a punk band!
As well as quirky stories they also highlight the reality of life in Dorset. The stories are recorded for the website using small, personal digital recorders called E-Tens. If you are researching your family history in this area, particularly if you don’t live there, I would recommend listening to these stories.
